Licensure/Endorsement

Students enrolled in the Early Intervention Program may elect to pursue a Preliminary Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education: Early Intervention/Early Childhood for the state of Oregon. Students that successfully complete all licensure and endorsement requirements can apply for a Preliminary teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education: Early Intervention/Early Childhood. This initial licensure is granted by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) and is required for EI/ECSE specialists serving children birth to five years of age in public school programs, including Education Service Districts (ESDs).

Program Options

Initial Licensure/Endorsement. Most master’s level students in the EI program will be working toward a Preliminary Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education: Early Intervention. Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Program Course Schedule (Sample)

Add-on Endorsement. Students who already have a current teaching license can apply for an “add-on endorsement” for Special Education: Early Intervention/Early Childhood.
